Winking Studios, a prominent player in the Asian triple-A gaming outsourcing industry, has made a strategic move by purchasing China’s Mineloader. This acquisition is valued at £16.3 million ($19.87 million) and consists of an initial payment of $14.7 million, with the remaining amount contingent upon Mineloader meeting specific performance targets over the next five years.
Established back in 2003, Mineloader has carved out a niche as a developer that specializes in art outsourcing. Johnny Jan, the CEO and founder of Winking Studios, expressed his excitement about the acquisition, stating, “This is our most significant acquisition to date. It represents a crucial step forward, enhancing our standing in the global gaming landscape and opening up exciting new avenues for growth and creativity.”
He went on to emphasize, “Game art plays a critical role in game development. It’s the visual and creative backbone that captivates players and defines their experience. Mineloader, with its solid track record and expertise in game art, brings a team of over 460 talented individuals to the table. This bolsters our existing team of more than 800, allowing us to expand our service offerings and attract new clients. Plus, Mineloader’s strong foothold in the Japanese market is an invaluable addition to our business network.”
