Zenless Zone Zero has unveiled details about the new S-Rank character Trigger’s signature W-Engine, poised for release in the latter part of Version 1.6. This update from HoYoverse’s urban action RPG promises a trove of fresh content, from new characters and bosses to captivating events. Version 1.6’s first half introduced the new S-Rank of starter character Anby, alongside fresh adversaries, including Hugo Vlad, aka the “Abyssal Enforcer” boss. Now, the stage is set for an exciting second half of the update.
In the upcoming phase of Version 1.6, fans can look forward to the introduction of Trigger as a new S-Rank character. Plus, Zhu Yuan will reappear on her very first re-run banner. Additionally, players can dive into a series of fresh events, including “Virtual World: Battle Storm” and “Little Knight’s Big Charge.” To top it off, HoYoverse has officially disclosed the details of a novel W-Engine.
Zenless Zone Zero shared a sneak peek of Trigger’s signature W-Engine on their social media platforms. Named “Spectral Gaze,” this impressive W-Engine boasts a base ATK of 713 when maxed out at Level 60, and its sub-stat is a Crit Rate reaching 24%. The W-Engine’s ability, “Wind Seeker,” strategically reduces enemies’ DEF when Aftershock is applied. If the equipper isn’t the active character, it bestows a stacking “Spirit Lock” Impact buff. An extra Impact buff is applied when Spirit Lock is maxed out.
The “Wind Seeker” effect works wonders by lowering a target’s DEF by 25% for five seconds upon being hit with Aftershock, while allowing a stack of Spirit Lock, with up to three stacks possible. Each stack elevates the equipper’s Impact by 4% for 12 seconds, with each stack’s duration calculated independently. Achieving full Spirit Lock stacks further increases the equipper’s Impact by an additional 8%.
Trigger’s new W-Engine is designed to bolster her synergy with Soldier 0 Anby, an ideal teammate. As a Stun unit, Trigger is adept at applying Daze, making her a perfect counterpart to the on-screen DPS character, Soldier 0 Anby. Enhancing Aftershock is particularly beneficial, ensuring this S-Rank Anby effectively wields the strong debuff. Both Trigger and her signature W-Engine are scheduled for release with the second half of Version 1.6 on April 2.
While revealing Trigger’s W-Engine, HoYoverse has also begun to tease the community about the upcoming Version 1.7 update. Ahead of Version 1.6’s launch, they confirmed the introduction of Hugo and Vivian as new characters featured on the gacha banners. Both made their initial appearances in Version 1.5’s “The Day of Brilliant Wishes” event as rival Bangboo coordinators, with Hugo also featuring in Lycaon’s Agent Story. Zenless Zone Zero undoubtedly has thrilling content lined up for its players in the forthcoming patches.
