Take-Two Interactive recently announced that they fully expect to back the Nintendo Switch 2, although they’re not quite ready to spill any further details just yet.
The publisher has already been a strong supporter of the original Switch, bringing popular titles like BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, XCOM 2 Collection, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, New Tales from the Borderlands, LEGO 2K Drive, and their latest releases, NBA 2K25 and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, to the platform.
During Take-Two Interactive’s Q3 2025 earnings call, CEO Strauss Zelnick highlighted the company’s enduring relationship with Nintendo. He pointed out that their game releases have often aligned with Nintendo’s audience focus. In the past, Nintendo platforms were more child-centric, which influenced their game deployment strategy. However, with the current Switch and looking toward the Switch 2, this platform is now open to gamers of all ages. Zelnick emphasized that with the availability of Sid Meier’s Civilization VII on the Switch, they anticipate continued support for the new console.
For those eager to hear more about Nintendo’s forthcoming console, a Nintendo Direct presentation specifically about the Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled. Tune in at 6am PT, 9am ET, 2pm BST, or 3pm CEST on Wednesday, April 2, to catch all the latest updates.
The global launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 is set for 2025, though the exact release date hasn’t been nailed down yet.
