Sony is stepping up its game in the world of cloud streaming, offering PlayStation Store demos to be streamed using PS Plus Premium. While game trials have been available for streaming for a while now, the novelty here is that players can start by skipping those long downloads entirely, making gaming a whole lot simpler and faster as Sony broadens its cloud streaming horizons.
According to keen-eyed users on Reddit, at the moment, only a select number of demos can be streamed. Among these, you’ll find the demo for the fresh release, “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.” Although these demos are open to everyone, PS Plus Premium members will enjoy the added benefit of a “Stream Demo” option, letting them dive into these trials instantly.
Another interesting tidbit is that a few free-to-play favorites like Fortnite and Destiny also support streaming through PS Plus Premium. Do bear in mind, though, that the availability of these titles might differ depending on the region.
Sony is making remarkable progress with its cloud streaming feature, albeit it’s still in the beta stage on the PS Portal. We recently shared that the remote player can now stream more than 200 games directly, without the need for a PS5 connection. All that’s required to jump in is a PS Plus Premium membership.
As for the global rollout of this feature, Sony has yet to announce a specific timeline, so stay tuned for further updates.
