OneXPlayer has rolled out an exciting new release, the X1 Pro, which boasts a versatile 3-in-1 design and is powered by AMD’s cutting-edge Strix Point APUs. This fresh contender follows hot on the heels of models like the F1 Pro and the Ayaneo 3, marking its place among the first handhelds to utilize AMD’s Zen 5 Strix Point APUs. It’s a noteworthy rival, especially against GPD’s eagerly anticipated Pocket 4 mini-laptops.
The X1 Pro showcases a multi-functional design that transforms effortlessly from a laptop to a tablet, and then into a handheld device. Mirroring the capabilities of the Pocket 4, this device is equipped with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, housing 12 cores split between four Zen 5 and eight Zen5c cores in a dual-CCX layout. Add to that a hefty 12MB of L2 cache, 24MB of L3 cache, and a blistering 5.1 GHz boost clock. Plus, the iGPU side doesn’t disappoint, featuring the Radeon 890M with 16 Compute Units, powered by AMD’s XDNA 2, ready to deliver a remarkable 50 TOPS of AI prowess.
Turning to the display, you’re treated to a 10.95-inch, 120 Hz LTPS panel (probably IPS), offering a stunning 2560×1600 resolution. It really packs a punch in terms of vibrancy, covering 138% of the sRGB color gamut and hitting a brightness of 540 nits. Storage options are flexible and impressive, ranging from 1TB to 4TB, with lightning-fast read speeds of up to 7.1 GB/s and write speeds of 6.5 GB/s, thanks to the 2280 form factor. And just to sweeten the deal, OneXPlayer has added a MicroSD card slot for even more storage freedom.
Battery life is backed by a 65.02Wh cell, promising up to eight hours on a single charge, although, under a heavy load at 28W, you’ll get closer to two hours. OneXPlayer includes a 100W Gallium Nitride charger with the unit to ensure fast charging times. On the connectivity front, you’ll enjoy Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 support.
The device’s control experience is enhanced thanks to hall-effect RGB joysticks designed to help prevent stick drift. As for the ports, the X1 Pro features two USB 4.0 ports, an OCuLink interface, a MicroSD slot, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, and a 3.5mm audio jack, ensuring great flexibility.
Pre-orders are officially open today, giving you the chance to secure the X1 Pro at a discounted rate during the presale period. Shipping is currently slated to commence on January 3rd. OneXPlayer plans to give a sneak peek of the X1 Pro along with other gadgets at CES 2025, scheduled for next month.
