People Can Fly, a Polish game development company, has rekindled its collaboration with the iconic Gears of War series. According to a recent announcement on their website, the studio will be teaming up with Xbox’s first-party developer, The Coalition, to contribute to the forthcoming Gears of War: E-Day. This marks a return to familiar ground for People Can Fly, which previously spearheaded the development of Gears of War: Judgment in 2013 and played a significant role in the early entries of this well-loved sci-fi shooter franchise.
Sebastian Wojciechowski, the CEO of People Can Fly, expressed his enthusiasm about this collaboration. “Being able to work on the next chapter of this legendary series again is both a privilege and a thrilling opportunity. We’re excited to enhance the intense action and compelling storytelling that fans have grown to love,” he stated. “We are sincerely thankful for the trust and support of our partners on this exciting journey.”
Echoing this sentiment, Mike Crump, the head of The Coalition studio, shared, “Gears of War: E-Day isn’t just our next major project; it’s a chance to return to the core elements that make Gears of War truly unique and authentic. We’re thrilled to partner with the skilled team at People Can Fly, who have been integral to our franchise’s legacy for many years.”
In other news, it’s worth mentioning that People Can Fly faced significant challenges in 2024, having reduced its workforce by over 150 employees.
