Overwatch 2 has introduced a fresh mode called Stadium, and I have to admit, I’m hooked.
In this mode, players battle across various rounds, up to seven, using a selection of the main Overwatch roster. What’s the twist? Each round earns you cash to spend on items, reminiscent of a MOBA-style game.
The assortment of items, powers, and passives work together in unexpected ways, turning Overwatch 2 into something uniquely different. The added touch of third-person gameplay makes it even more engaging.
If you’re diving into Stadium, you might find it overwhelming to sift through the extensive list of perks and abilities. I’ve been checking out some Moira build guides online, but they didn’t quite hit the mark for me. So here’s my take on the best Moira build, along with some tips that I think make a real difference.
### Best Overwatch 2 Stadium Moira Powers

| Round | Name | Description |
|———–|——————-|—————————————————————————–|
| Round 1 | Cross-Orbal | [Biotic Orb] launches an additional orb of the opposite type with 50% less capacity. |
| Round 3 | Multiball | [Biotic Orb] launches two more orbs of the same type with 85% reduced effectiveness. |
| Round 5 | Optimal Overflow | Spend 50 [Biotic Energy] to launch the last used [Biotic Orb] with duration reduced by 75%. |
| Round 7 | Phantasm | Using [Fade] spawns a stationary copy of the last [Biotic Orb] with 50% less duration. |
Moira is known as a controversial support hero, almost blurring into a damage role. Her Biotic Orbs and Grasp make her perfect for players with less-than-stellar aiming skills, thanks to their area-effect nature. On consoles, you can crank up joystick speed for quicker turns without losing accuracy like with hitscan heroes.
Although she’s designed as a support character, this build lets you have the best of both worlds.
The strategy is simple: spam those Biotic Orbs everywhere. This build adds pressure to damage dealers and heals allies. As you progress, more orbs mean more damage or healing. It’s especially effective on maps with tight corridors, but you can overwhelm squishy DPS and support heroes with a barrage of orbs, followed by a strategic fade.
Complementing this build are items that boost ability power, extending your orb range.
### Best Overwatch 2 Stadium Moira Items
Swipe to scroll horizontally on the table below:
| Item Name | Description | Strategy |
|————–|————————————————————|———————————————————————————————–|
| Nano Cola | +20% Ability Power. | Increases Orb damage and healing – essential for Moira’s playstyle. |
| Smart Orbs | +5% Ability Power, [Biotic Orb] moves 50% slower when active. | Useful for tracking, but be cautious when needing long-distance shots. |
| Extendrils | +10% Ability Power, +30% [Biotic Orb] Tendril Range. | Greater range means more effective orbs. |
| Champion’s Kit| +40% Ability Power. | Expensive, but stacking into this leads to a massive 100% ability power in long matches. |
| Liquid Nitrogen | +25 Health, +10% Ability Power, slowing enemy movement by 20% for 3s. | This pair with Smart Orbs to potentially slow attackers permanently. |
The focus here is on amplifying Moira’s ability power, which enhances both damage and healing. The items I’ve listed are crucial, but you can tweak to suit your style.
Once you’ve built up Moira’s capabilities, identify weaker targets and pile on the pressure with multiple orbs. Smart Orbs travel slowly when engaging enemies or allies, perfect for picking off elusive targets like Mercy. Healing orbs can follow you, supporting DPS efforts or stifling flanks. If you have enough cash, Liquid Nitrogen paired with Smart Orbs can slow down heroes like Genji, disrupting their momentum.
Boosting ability power items helps maintain both your damage and healing throughout matches, making Moira’s ultimate particularly devastating. Combine death orbs with your ultimate, and you can wipe out entire teams.
### Overwatch 2 Stadium: Surprisingly Awesome
Between rounds, you can choose from a variety of powers and items, offering an exciting layer of strategy.
Overwatch 2’s Stadium Mode is a breath of fresh air, building on successful perk systems and hinting at the customization promised from the canceled Story Mode.
Balancing the mode might take time. Some heroes like Moira and Mei feel overpowered, while others like Ashe could use a boost. But the potential is clear. Overwatch 2 continues to deliver, even nearly a decade later.
You can dive into Overwatch 2’s Stadium Mode on Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC.
