Capcom has just announced a nostalgic treat for fans of classic gaming: the PlayStation 2 favorite, Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, is getting a remaster for the Nintendo Switch.
Building on its predecessor, Onimusha: Warlords, this sequel made waves, selling a significant 2.1 million copies globally, which crowned it the highest-selling installment in the franchise.
This time around, players will journey with Jubei Yagyu, the intriguing new lead character on a quest driven by revenge. Interestingly, Jubei’s character model is a tribute to the late Yusaku Matsuda, a renowned Japanese actor who captured hearts in the 1980s.
While the remastered edition promises to keep the original’s beloved setting and gameplay, it also introduces fresh features and quality-of-life enhancements to align with today’s gaming standards.
Expect to find Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny available for digital download on the Nintendo eShop for Switch users in 2025. Keep an eye out for updates and get ready for this exciting return to feudal Japan on your modern consoles.
