Focus Entertainment has taken a significant step forward as they embark on the creation of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3. Although the development phase has officially launched, the gaming community remains in suspense, with no detailed revelations shared just yet. For now, the team is channeling its energy into the much-celebrated Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
This sequel picks up where the 2011 Relic Entertainment original left off, and it’s clear that Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 has not disappointed. It skyrocketed to commercial success, earning the title of the fastest-selling project Saber Interactive’s CEO has ever undertaken. Players are plunged into the intense and gritty setting of the Warhammer 40K universe, where they take up arms as a formidable Space Marine to battle against endless hordes. Riding on this triumph, Focus Entertainment has now set a thrilling new chapter into motion for fans.
Through a collaboration with Saber Interactive and Games Workshop, Focus Entertainment has unveiled a 15-second teaser video on YouTube, signaling the development of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 3. The brief clip is simple yet evocative, showing Space Marine Titus on the left, drenched in rain and visibly furious, accompanied by the game’s title on the right. While further details on the game remain scarce, the teaser alone has sparked a wave of excitement among fans, with anticipation building for a release that hopes to match the triumph of Space Marine 2.
Despite the anticipation for the next installment, Focus Entertainment continues to dedicate significant effort to Space Marine 2. The studio outlined an ambitious content roadmap through the first half of 2025, introducing new and engaging updates. February saw the arrival of the Datavault expansions, inviting players to conquer Ordeals across various modes such as Campaign, Operations, and Eternal War for rewarding experiences. The February update also introduced a fresh PvP map named “Tomb,” a unique adversary, an emote system, armory data refinement, and many more enticing features.
Moreover, in March 2025, another update was rolled out, targeting perk adjustments to enhance game balance, while also tackling a variety of minor fixes to improve overall gameplay. For example, a persistent bug causing the Assault class to unexpectedly teleport after using its Jump Pack ability was finally addressed.
With the acclaim garnered from Space Marine 2, which enjoys a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, the bar has been set high indeed. As eyes turn towards Saber Interactive to see what they have up their sleeves for Space Marine 3, gamers and critics alike remain eager yet patient for the journey ahead.
