After numerous claims of GeForce RTX 5090 GPUs failing to function emerged, NVIDIA has begun looking into the situation.
### NVIDIA Begins Investigation Amidst Reports of RTX 5090 and RTX 5090D Failures
Over the past few days, there’s been a surge in reports of the RTX 5090 and its Chinese variant, the RTX 5090D, encountering significant issues. Many users have been left scratching their heads, trying various troubleshooting approaches but finding no long-term fix.
While a handful of individuals have found temporary solutions through unconventional methods, most are still grappling with the same persistent problems. Given the growing number of complaints, NVIDIA has now taken notice and is stepping in. According to PC Gamer, an NVIDIA representative stated:
> “We are investigating the reported issues with the RTX 50 series.”
Although they haven’t shared any specific details, it’s clear that NVIDIA is now aware of the concerns. If you’re unfamiliar with the situation, check out our article from earlier this week that explains the predicament. In essence, both the RTX 5090 and RTX 5090D models are experiencing black screens upon driver updates, failing to activate the monitor display.
This issue surfaced consistently right after users installed the newest NVIDIA driver. It seems to have tangled into a more complex web than expected. Even attempts to revert to the previous driver version haven’t helped, as the GPU becomes unrecognizable to the system. Several users have gone so far as resetting the BIOS, yet still find their GPUs missing from both Device Manager and the BIOS setup.
While the exact cause remains elusive, some speculate it might be tied to architectural or driver compatibility problems rather than a hardware fault. At this point, we’re all waiting on NVIDIA’s findings since a permanent fix for the RTX 5090/5090D issues has yet to surface.
