If you’ve been eagerly awaiting some epic robot action, today might just be your lucky day. Steel Hunters has officially entered Early Access! This free-to-play game effortlessly combines extraction shooter elements with the thrill of battle royale, promising a rush of excitement for all you mecha enthusiasts out there.
The creators of Steel Hunters are none other than the team from Wargaming, the masterminds behind popular titles like World of Tanks, World of Warships, and World of Warplanes. While this new game marks a significant pivot from their usual settings, it still retains that tactical warfare edge—just with a fresh twist aimed at a different audience.
Kicking off its Early Access phase, Steel Hunters introduces players to seven distinct Hunters (think mechs with unique flair), and they’ve promised to roll out an additional one during this period. The game offers three diverse maps, a battle pass to dive into, and, best of all, your progress here won’t vanish once the full game is released. So, if you’re on the fence, now’s the ideal moment to dive in.
It’s clearly a fantastic time for fans of all things robotic. Earlier this year, we experienced the open beta for Mecha Break, which takes a different route with gameplay that’s more like the classic Gundam vibes. In contrast, Steel Hunters opts for a more down-to-earth strategy, both in its combat style and design approach.
Does this sound like your kind of game? If so, don’t hesitate to check it out! Steel Hunters is available right now on PC. Once you’ve had a go, we’d love to hear your thoughts! Feel free to share your opinions below.
