Are you eagerly waiting to dive into Dune Awakening, yet still find yourself on the sidelines? Don’t worry, the wait is almost over! You’ll soon have the chance to play, thanks to an upcoming free open beta weekend starting on May 9 and wrapping up on May 12.
To snag a spot, you’ll either need to add the game to your wishlist before May 9 or grab one of the “thousands” of beta codes the team will be handing out over the weekend. While it’s referred to as an open beta, you’ll need a bit of luck to get in. It’s like leaving the door slightly open—just enough to peek inside.
Interestingly, this beta is happening just days ahead of the initial launch date of May 15, which was postponed. The team at Funcom decided to take a bit more time to ensure everything was perfectly polished for the official release.
During the beta, players will explore the first two regions, offering a solid 20 hours of gameplay. You’ll get to delve into several Research Facilities, experiment with early abilities from various classes, and even engage in some PvP at ship crash sites. It’s a perfect teaser for what’s to come. And if you’re curious about our experience, we’ve just released a new preview of Dune Awakening covering this very segment of the game.
