Happy New Year, Travelers! As we kick off 2025, the Genshin Impact development team extends warm wishes for a fantastic start to the year. We’ve got some thrilling news for you about the soon-to-arrive Version 5.4, titled “Moonlight Amidst Dreams,” landing on February 12. This update takes you back to Inazuma, the electrifying land of Electro, where a splendid celebration is on the horizon. You’ll meet the charming Yumemizuki Mizuki as you reunite with familiar faces such as the Raiden Shogun and Yae Miko. They’re all gathering for the Mikawa Flower Festival, a magical event where humans and youkai come together under Inazuma’s radiant moonlight.
Now, let’s dive into the Mikawa Flower Festival, an event that promises excitement and camaraderie. Nestled at the base of Inazuma’s Mt. Yougou, this year’s festival shines brighter than ever. A gathering that once catered solely to youkai has blossomed into a lively celebration where humans are equally welcome. It beautifully melds time-honored traditions with fresh friendships, making the event truly memorable. This year’s festival introduces a unique “48-hour Game Development Competition,” where you might just spot the Raiden Shogun making a special appearance. Whispers even suggest she’ll be delving into a bizarre nightmare connected to an old acquaintance.
During this competition, both humans and youkai will have two days to team up and create new games. Thanks to the mesmerizing magic of the Kitsune Meal, youkai can now communicate in human languages, making for captivating collaborations that are bound to produce exciting new mini-games.
The first in line is “A Little Fox’s Daydream,” where Mizuki and Kokomi lead you through an adventure packed with changing dreamscapes. Here, a little fox navigates between delightful dreams and eerie nightmares to seek out delicious fried tofu and its eventual destinations.
Next, test your strategic skills in “Bunshin Phantasm,” brought to you by Sayu, Yoimiya, and Kichiboushi. Guide the adorable Muji-Muji Daruma, mimicking your actions, to activate pressure plates and pave your way to victory!
Don’t skip out on “Akitsu Harpastum: Dreams Doubled,” an innovative mix of the classic “Akitsu Yuugei” brick breaker game and elements from Mondstadt’s harpastum, hosted by Thoma and his youkai mates. Perfect for solo or cooperative play, these mini-games reward you with Festival Stamps, which you can trade for exciting prizes, including the 4-star polearm “Tamayuratei no Ohanashi.”
Beyond games, the Aisa Bathhouse introduces festival-themed bathrobes, courtesy of Yumemizuki Mizuki, a new 5-star character. As a yumekui-baku, Mizuki consumes nightmares and, drawing from her skills as a clinical psychologist, helps her clients confront their darkest fears. Her Story Quest offers you a chance to visit the Aisa Bathhouse and perhaps experience her dream-delving treatments.
When it comes to battle, Mizuki is a 5-star Anemo catalyst user who combines swirling damage with healing. Her versatility allows her to blend seamlessly into diverse team compositions, whether it’s Pyro, Electro, Hydro, or Cryo, enhancing Swirl DMG to ramp up the team’s damage output. Her Elemental Skill ushers her into the Dreamdrifter state, where she floats ethereally, dealing periodic AoE Anemo damage and boosting team Swirl damage.
Mizuki’s Elemental Burst can change her healing approach based on what her team needs. It draws in foes and creates “Yumemi Style Special Snacks.” Grab these snacks to heal or unleash AoE Anemo DMG depending on your active character’s health. Plus, her unique talent significantly amplifies healing, giving an impressive 30% increase in HP recovery when using health-boosting dishes.
For those keen on battle tactics, remember that as Mizuki roves in her Dreamdrifter state, she has an extended range to pick up Yumemi Style Special Snacks amidst combat chaos.
Now, on to Version 5.4’s Event Wishes. The first phase heralds the debut of Yumemizuki Mizuki alongside a rerun of Sigewinne. The second phase features reruns of Furina and Wriothesley. Mizuki will then join the Standard Wish banner following the Version 5.5 update.
But that’s not all! Stay connected with old pals during the Mikawa Flower Festival, and keep an eye out for friendly faces on your journeys. The “Travelers’ Tales: Anthology Chapter” lets you cross paths with old friends in the world, with anecdote icons guiding the way to catch up on their latest exploits.
For combat fans, dive into the “Realm of Tempered Valor.” This event tests your mettle with a grueling 25 floors of challenges, available solo or in Co-Op Mode. Earning specific milestones can nab you a special Namecard!
For those seeking downtime, try your hand at “Invasive Fish Wrangler,” a multiplayer fishing mini-game, or join your old chum Xavier for ad-editing commissions.
We’re also bringing in some quality-of-life improvements. Look forward to using Level-Up Plans right in the “Training Guide.” Simply set your targets, and the system will guide you on needed materials and how to obtain them. Key interfaces like the Adventurer Handbook, Domain entrances, completion screens, and Battle Pass rewards will highlight these needs.
And crafting got easier too! Tap “Craftable Amount” to teleport straight to the Crafting Bench, and look for the Auto Add feature for quicker weapon refinement.
That wraps up today’s preview! We can’t wait for you to create memories and reconnect during the Mikawa Flower Festival. Enjoy every moment in Version 5.4, and here’s to embarking on new grand adventures!
