Known as the “keepers of time,” these creatures were once closely in tune with nature’s rhythms. But as the Cavelings began expanding their territories, conflicts broke out, escalating into a relentless war. Scattered throughout the underground are the remnants of this epic struggle: cicada husks and abandoned Caveling settlements, reminders of a conflict that nearly led to mutual destruction.

At the heart of it all lies Nimruza, an imposing cicada queen whose offspring once stretched far and wide beneath the desert. Her once-majestic form was compromised by a burrowing parasite, which took control and consumed her from within. Now driven by a dark power, Nimruza is a formidable adversary who represents a pivotal development in the ongoing storyline of the Cicada-Caveling War within Core Keeper.
