If you were crossing your fingers for a second run of Agatha All Along, it seems like that’s not happening. The showrunner appears to have nixed the idea.
Before we dive any deeper, be warned: spoilers for the finale of Agatha All Along lie ahead.
After what felt like ages since WandaVision wrapped up, Agatha All Along finally hit screens last year and enjoyed pretty favorable feedback from viewers. A great deal of this positive buzz likely comes down to Jac Schaeffer’s vision as the creator and some stellar performances from a cast including the legendary Patti LuPone. However, in a recent chat on Andy Cohen Live, LuPone shared that a second season isn’t in the cards. She said, “There won’t be one. Jac Schaeffer, the creator, came into my trailer and said, ‘Patti, I’m just here to tell you that Lilia’s going to die,’ and I was like, ‘But I wanted a second season!’”
Schaeffer’s decision not to continue Agatha All Along mirrors her choice with WandaVision. According to LuPone, “[Schaeffer] said, ‘I don’t do second seasons.’ She explained, ‘They wanted me to do a second season of WandaVision and I didn’t. There’s too much to write,’ so she prefers one-off stories. I’m really hoping and even praying I get the chance to collaborate with her once more because she’s nothing short of magical.”
Naturally, this might be a letdown for fans eagerly hoping for more, but sometimes that’s the way the cookie crumbles. But if you’re keen on more of WandaVision’s narrative, there’s some good news: Vision Quest, a new series featuring Paul Bettany’s Vision, is underway. It’s set to bring back a familiar face from the MCU, adding an element of excitement for fans.
