Hold onto your controllers, because we’ve got some thrilling news for 2XKO fans this month that you won’t want to miss. While it may just be an announcement about an upcoming development update video, it’s still something to get excited about. We’re on the verge of receiving a comprehensive breakdown of game changes, an overview of the character Jinx, and details on the forthcoming Alpha Lab test. Exciting stuff!
The man behind the announcement? None other than Ben Forbes, the editor-in-chief for 2XKO, who took to Twitter to share the update. He tweeted, “We just wrapped up filming the next 2XKO update! We’re currently working on editing, production, and localization, but here’s what’s on the docket: We’re diving deep into the gameplay changes since Alpha Lab 1 (Jinx included!), sharing insights and details on Alpha Lab 2, and featuring a match with the dev team.”
He didn’t stop there. His tweet continued, “This update goes pretty deep, so it’s shaping up to be a lengthy video — likely around an hour. Our goal is to release this update in the last week of March. While we’re not quite ready to jump into PowerPoint livestreams yet, maybe someday we will be…”
Now, before you get too carried away, it’s important to note that this update won’t feature any new character reveals. So, if you’re placing bets on new faces, you might want to hold off.
Remember last year when the 2XKO team hinted at fresh details coming in February? Well, that timeline shifted a bit. Instead of February, game director Shaun Rivera shared some insights over Twitter, including changes in the scope of the upcoming Alpha Labs test and the introduction of a new mechanism to the game.
Internally, it seems Riot’s timelines have taken a bit of a shuffle, leading to the planned February update being pushed to this month. Nevertheless, with the game still on track for a release this year, it’s the perfect time for an in-depth info session on 2XKO’s current progress, what improvements are in the pipeline, and where we might see the game making waves next.
So, are you planning to catch this update? We’d love to hear your thoughts below!
