After a flurry of discussions surrounding tariffs, we’ve finally nailed down the preorder date for the Switch 2 in the United States. Mark your calendars for April 24, a Thursday, when you’ll be able to reserve one for yourself.
Today, Nintendo made it official with a press release. They’ve kept the prices steady for the moment: if you’re going for just the system, it’s tagged at $449.99. However, if you fancy grabbing it along with a digital copy of Mario Kart World, it’ll set you back $499.99.
Now, when it comes to accessories, there is a bit of a shift. Given the current situation’s unpredictability, some prices are seeing an uptick. The Switch 2 Pro Controller, for instance, has jumped to $84.99, which is $5 more than before. Pair that with the new pricing for the Joy-Cons, now set at $94.99, and you’ll notice they’ve also crept up by $5. Should you want an additional dock, it’s now $119.99, nudging up by $10. Joy-Con straps had a smaller bump and now cost $13.99, going up by a modest $1. A slew of other accessories have similarly seen a $5 increase. Check out the accompanying picture in this article for a complete rundown on hardware MSRPs as well as the confirmed pricing for Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza.
As for our friends up north in Canada, preorders are expected to start on the same day. However, due to a national holiday, an official confirmation might not come today. Even so, Nintendo of Canada has backed up the date and provided the Canadian pricing details. So, it’s a waiting game for the retailers to catch up and update their listings.
