Players diving into Helldivers 2 might not have received the massive update some were anticipating this week, but the mission at hand certainly comes with high Galactic War stakes. Tired of that ominous purple Meridian death ball wrecking planets? Here’s your chance to take it down.
So far, this destructive ball has consumed three worlds: Moradesh, Angel’s Venture, and most recently, Ivis. While some players are still lamenting over these losses, others are growing indifferent, as the death ball saga is starting to test the patience of hardcore divers. It’s about time to halt its path towards Super Earth.
This mission follows a triumph on Wezen, where the divers managed to set up an Exosuit Support Bay on their Democracy Space Station. This upgrade has slashed exosuit stratagem cooldowns for everyone by a significant 35%.
“Scientists at the Center of Science on Fenrir III are on the verge of launching the third and final phase of the effort to stop the Meridian Singularity,” the latest update reveals. “However, advancements into the complex realm of Dark Energy manipulation demand substantial quantities of E-710 for experimentation.”
The latest major directive from High Command is to embark on a second limited expedition into the Gloom, aimed at advancing our tech sufficiently to finally put an end to the Meridian Wormhole. Check your Galactic Map for detailed intel.
“The Gloom, which was perilous yet enriching during our initial scientific expedition, is being targeted again by High Command to secure the E-710 needed to halt the wormhole. If surplus E-710 is procured, it might be offered to mercantile interests in the spirit of collective prosperity.”
To free the planet Nivel 43, secure the E-710, and obliterate the death ball, divers must confront the same “Gloom-specific terminid strains” encountered during the last incursion into the fog. Get ready for some intense bug battles.
The community seems eager to dive back into the fog. One exclamation on the game’s subreddit reads, “THERE’S ANOTHER GLOOM EXPEDITION,” sparking a lively thread of enthusiastic posts about the chance to take on more terminids. They might be a tad weary of battling automatons and illuminates recently, but the excitement is palpable.
