Krafton, the Korean gaming company, has recently executed another round of layoffs at Striking Distance, the studio behind The Callisto Protocol. This development began to surface on LinkedIn, where those affected shared their disappointment about the situation. Following these posts, Krafton acknowledged the layoffs to PC Gamer, emphasizing, however, that the studio is still operational.
A Krafton representative explained, “To remain agile and foster a sustainable environment for our current stage, Striking Distance Studios has downsized its team.” They assured that the studio is continuing its operations, and these changes will not disturb any planned support efforts. Currently, there are no further layoffs on the horizon.
Back in 2023, Striking Distance had already let go of 32 employees, which was about 20% of its workforce at the time. Founded by Glen Schofield, a veteran from Sledgehammer, the studio launched its initial title, The Callisto Protocol, in 2022.
